The ”Divest” aspect of the Boycott, Divestment, Sangtions (BDS) campain against Israel involves encouraging individuals, institutions and organizations to withdraw investments from companies and entites that are seen as complicit in the violation of Palestinian rights. This includes business that operate in the occupied Palestinian territories, provide goods or services that support the Israeli military or settlement infrastructure, or benefit from the occupation in other ways.
The goal of divestment is to apply economic pressure in Israel to change its policies and practices regarding the occupation and treatment of Palestinians.
